Site Introduction

This site provides information on two premier hospitality accounting texts with a
global customer base, both in education and industry. The leading hospitality universities and colleges are major customers of these texts because of their readability, up-to-date subjects, and applicability to industry practice.  The hospitality industry recognizes these texts as pragmatic to the needs of the industry.

 
Brief Introduction to the Texts

The two texts provide comprehensive industry approved coverage of hospitality
accounting principles, systems, and managerial accounting. The texts have been
repeatedly updated since their origination 20 years ago. During that period, the

Textbook 1

 Basic Hotel and Restaurant Accounting is a principles and systems text based
on the uniform system of accounts for hotels (AHLA) and restaurants (NRA). It offers
state of the art accounting with computerized general ledger accounting as the basis
for processing financial data.  The text also contains several introductory managerial
accounting
chapters.  

Textbook 2

Accounting for Hospitality Managers is a managerial accounting  text providing
the student with the necessary skills and knowledge to analyze financial information,
solve hospitality business problems and achieve profit objectives.
